KADUNA, FEBRUARY 16, 2018 – The Kaduna State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a query to Governor Nasiru El-Rufai over alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement released on Thursday by APC’s Acting State Chairman, Mr. Danladi Wada, the party said that the decision was taken after full investigation and consultation with stakeholders and elders of A{C.
Wada said: “His Excellency, Mallam Nasiru el-Rufai has been queried and we are expecting him to answer the query within 48 hours. Failure to do that, the state working committee will sit down and deliberate.
“We queried Mallam Nasiru el-Rufai for his anti-party activates and anti-human activities,” he said.
Wada also disclosed the suspension of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Uba Sani, the Commissioner for Finance, Audu Kwari, and the APC Acting Secretary, Yahaya Baba-Pate.
He explained that the three aides of the governor were suspended for 18 months, adding that “the letters would be delivered to these personalities today (yesterday),’’ Wada said.
Also yesterday, Wada unveiled the party’s new state office in Kaduna, saying the decision was in the best interest of members.
Wada said that the move to the new office was due to security concerns, harassment of party members and prevention of others from accessing the APC’s old secretariat.
The acting chairman said the party was ready to accommodate all interests, so as to forge a united front ahead of the general elections.
In a swift reaction, the governor said that he would not be swayed by “drowning antics,” adding that no one would accept the “attention-seeking gambits of desperate politicians who have steadily been demystified.”
The Kaduna APC is divided into three factions, after the Senator representing Kaduna North, Suleiman Hunkuyi, announced at a function last week that he was no more, “in the same camp with the governor.”
There is the “APC Akida”, chaired by Tom Mataimaki Mai-Yashi to which Senator Shehu Sani belongs; the “APC Restoration” headed by Tijjani Ramalan and the “APC Aspirant Forum”, headed by Hunkuyi.
In a statement signed by El-Rufai’s spokesperson, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the governor described the action as “rascally”, alleging that Hunkuyi is the man behind it.
According to hi, the APC government in Kaduna State has lived up to its manifesto, commitments and principles to the people, adding that it had continued to enjoy the firm support of the APC State Executive.
