MON, MARCH 16 2020-theG&BJournal- The All Progressives Congress (APC) party has postponed indefinitely their meeting earlier scheduled by the National Executive Council of the party for Tuesday March 17, 2020.
APC sources say the decision to suspend the meeting was in response to the contrasting views of party members on how to handle the leadership tussle in the party as well as the ongoing court cases in respect of the party’s embattled National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole who was in court today to redress his suspension as National Chairman.
Another source told theG&BJournal that a decision was reached between some governors in the Party’s NEC, the Progressive Governor’s Forum (PGF)  and President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the meeting.
Today’s meeting took place at the State House in Abuja.
Last week, the NEC of party scheduled to meet March 17, but the meeting was viewed with suspicion by some party members who equally called the meeting illegal and said it did not reflect the party’s national aspiration.
The scheduling of the meeting drew a query last Friday from Oshiomhole to the party’s Ag. National Secretary Victor Giadom for writing a letter informing the President and inviting him to the NEC meeting ‘’contrary to the provisions of the APC Constitution-Article 25 B(i) and (ii) which states: The National Executive Committee shall meet every quarter and or at any time decided by the National Chairman or at the request made in writing by at least two-third of the members of the National Executive Committee provided that not less than fourteen (14) days’ notice is given for the meeting to be summoned.
