TUE 12 APRIL, 2022-theGBJournal | Their letters of resignation was read on the floor of the Senate today by the Senate President Dr. Ahmad Lawan.

Both serving Senators, Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Abubakar Kyari were recently elected as National Chairman and Deputy National Chairman (North) respectively.

‘’As I leave the Senate, I cannot easily forget the change and style of leadership that ou brought since becoming the Senate President of the Ninth Senate,’’ Senator Adamu told the Senate President in his resignation letter, adding, ‘’your ability to forge the deep-rooted bi-partisan approach on all issues which you chaired deliberations speaks volume of your chemistry as a leader.’’

Adamu said his resignation will leave him with full memories of the solidarity and camaraderie that the Senate President have been able to forge over the eleven years he was in the Senate.

Recall that Senator Adamu was presented with the instrument of office on 30, March 2022 by the immediate-past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

Senator Adamu Chaired the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development until his resignation today. Kyari was also until his resignation,  the Chairman of the Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
