SUN, 19 JUNE, 2022-theGBJournal| Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate has won the Ekiti State governorship election held yesterday.
He was declared winner by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, who confirmed he scored a total of 187, 057 to beat his closest opponents, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 82, 211 and 67,457 votes respectively.
The INEC accredited a total of 363, 438 voters out of the registered 988, 923.
Biodun Oyebanji, the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) will succeed Kayode Fayemi.
‘’I am going to aggregate the best brains of Ekiti all over the world to help me achieve my dreams,’’ Oyebanji said after his victory.
