Amazing: Two women diagnosed with COVID-19 successfully give birth to healthy babies with assistant from Frontline workers

SAT, MAY 16 2020-theG&BJournal- The Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) broke the news of the amazing development amidst concern of health of pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19.
The first baby delivered by Frontline workers, a baby boy, was born at the Gbagada Isolation Centre today. The baby weighed 2.9kg on delivery. The Lagos State Ministry of Health announced that both mother and baby are doing well.
Frontline workers at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Thursday 14th May 2020 also took delivery of a baby boy involving a COVID-19 patient through caesarean section for the 3rd time running.
‘’We appreciate frontline workers at Gbagada, LUTH and other COVID-19 Lagos care centres for the amazing wok in the heat of the global pandemic. Your efforts at providing care to patients is commendable,’’ the Ministry of Health said.
The State Incident Commander, Prof. Akin Abayomi tweeted his delight of the development saying: ‘’I am excited to announce the successful delivery of a baby boy weighing 2.9kg by health workers of LSMOH at Gbagada COVID-19 Care Centre on Friday, May 16, 2020.’’
