THUR, OCT 12 2023-theGBJournal| The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership Wednesday hinted at a possible legal action against Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) respectively, as both continue their barrage on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s identity and educational qualifications.

The Leadership of APC, Nigeria’s ruling party, dropped the hint after Obi’s press conference during which he called on President Tinubu to ”immediately and personally mount the rostrum of his present high office to perform a simple task once and for all time,” saying the President ”should re-introduce himself to the nation he governs and to the world for the avoidance of further doubt.”

”For the records, our team of lawyers is advised to explore all available judicial mechanisms towards bringing Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar to justice for their ceaseless contemptuous conduct,” the APC said in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

APC had condemned what it it described as ”the sordid and disgraceful attempt by Obi, Atiku and their cheerleaders to use the mainstream and social media to intimidate the judiciary, incite the public to violence, disparage Justices of the Appeal and Supreme Court, and we urge all well-meaning Nigerians to condemn this anti-democratic and irresponsible conduct of both political naggers.”

According to the APC, ”It is disturbing and utterly contemptuous of the courts of our land for the duo of Atiku and Obi to rail and pollute the public space with the very same issues that they have submitted to the court for adjudication. They have continued to perpetrate public deception, operating, simultaneously, as accusers and judges in their base cause.”

Both Obi and Atiku had since after the March Presidential election gone to court to challenge President Tinubu’s victory at the poll and, Atiku on his own has gone as far as to Chicago State University in the United State to unravel Tinubu’s qualification for the election in his quest to push his case in the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

APC in its most recent statement responded to the Chicago State University question mark saying, ”Chicago State University has unequivocally stated over and over again, and in a deposition, under oath, by the Registrar, Caleb Westberg that President Tinubu attended the school and graduated with Honours,” adding that ”Nigerians are now familiar with the stellar academic performance of President Tinubu as evidenced by his transcript released by the CSU with 18As, 10Bs and 3Cs grades.”
