THUR, APRIL. 20 2023-theGBJournal |The most powerful rocket ever built, SpaceX’s Starship left the launch pad Thursday (2.30pm Nigerian time), with its massive 33 engines roaring into the sky from its base in Boca Chico, Texas.
G&BJournal staff watched as cheers and claps belted out from control Centre as the rocket slowly blasted off in a huge plume of exhaust smoke. ”Aliens must be watching this” our correspondent exclaimed in awe, ”if they are out there.”
SpaceX team of engineers are putting the rocket to test in the belief that it will usher in a new era of interplanetary travel. SpaceX described the rocket as the largest, ”most capable rocket ever developed.”
It was initially due to launch on Monday, but was delayed with minutes to lift off because of frozen valve.
Today’s unmanned launch and test flight was declared a success after the Starship cleared the pad and beach and set out on its planned flight path.
”Congrats @SpaceX team on an exciting test launch of Starship!,” says Elon Musk, inventor, Founder and CEO of SpaceX.
