Aduni Owolabi, Coach of Ajagun Academy of Lagos on Thursday said the team was `battle-ready’ for the forthcoming Brown Ideye Challenge.
A statement signed by Owolabi said the club was ready to approach the competition with all seriousness.
The competition would be sponsored by a former Dolphins’ and Nigeria’s junior international, Abdul Jaleel Ajagun.
It said the team would play some friendly matches with Bayelsa United in preparation for the tournament.
“We want to be in top shape when the competition starts, so we plan to have a friendly game against Bayelsa United in Yenegoa.
“The match will afford us that opportunity to prepare well for the competition. We know the calibre of teams that have registered and pray for good draws on May 1,’’ it said.
The registration for the Brown Ideye Challenge would close on April 30.
The winner of the tournament will go home with N 300, 000. The event will hold later in May on dates yet-to-be fixed.
