Airtel Nigeria pays N58.7bn for 2100 MHz Spectrum renewal

TUE, MAY. 09 2023-theGBJournal|Airtel Networks Limited (Airtel Nigeria), Nigerian subsidairy of Airtel Africa Plc, has made a payment of N58.7bn to renew its 2×10 MHz 2100 MHz spectrum licence in the country, Airtel Africa said today.

The payment for the licence, made to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria’s independent national telecommunications industry regulatory authority, will be valid for a period of 15 years following the expiry of the previous licence (31 April 2022).

”This investment to renew the licence reflects our continued confidence in the opportunity inherent across the Nigerian market, supporting the local communities and economies through furthering digital inclusion and connectivity, Airtel Africa, leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, with a presence in 14 countries across Africa said imn a statement.
