Afcon 2025 Qualifiers| Super Eagles goes top of Group D after 0-0 draw with Rwanda

TUE SEPT 10 2024-theGBJournal Super Eagles of Nigeria dominated the away encounter with Rwanda firing 20 shots with nine on target but was unable to find the much needed goal to beat the home side in the beautiful Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes of play with added time but the draw was enough to send the entertaining Super Eagles top of the table with 4 points, tied with Rwanda.

The Rwandan goalkeeper, Ntwari Fiarce, was forced into several fantastic saves to keep a clean sheet, pulling out an incredible save from Ademola Lookman in the 74th minute following his fierce low drive from close range.

Victor Boniface stroked the ball in the course of play into the net, but it was ruled offside.

Moses Simon was impressive as the Super Eagles created several attacking chances.

Rwanda attacking midfielder, Muhire Kevin, had a great game against versatile Nigerian left back, Ola Aina.

Rwandan President was at the stadium to watch the entertaining encounter.
