Gov. Muhammadu Jibrilla of Adamawa said that the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) had started growing with improved security and measures taken by his administration.

Jibrilla said this on Thursday in Yola, that the return of peace in northern part of the state, known as its commercial nerve centre that was affected by insurgency, had helped in shoring up the state revenue.

“Revenue is our major concern now in view of the dwindling allocation from Federation Account.

“We now meet every Monday on the issue of IGR and things are improving from the initial N200 million monthly.

“Our revenue is coming up now; I don’t want to give you the figure but sure it’s coming up.”

The governor, who spoke on the state mineral potentials, said some investors had shown interest and would soon come to invest.

“We have a lot of investors that are coming to invest; infact, some have even come,” Jibrilla said.
He noted that his recent visit to China had a lot to do with investment drive.
