MON 28 MARCH, 2022-theGBJournal| The Board of Access Holdings Plc today announced the composition of its Board, comprising of seasoned bankers and financial experts.
At same time, Mr Roosevelt Ogbonna, FCA, CFA, who has been Access Bank’s Deputy Managing Director since 2017 was announced as the new Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank Plc, now a subsidiary of Access Holdings Plc. He takes over from Mr Herbet Wigwe FCA whose appointment to the Board of the Access Holding Plc as the Managing Director/Chief Executive officer was confirmed today as well.
The Bank said Ogbonna’s appointment underscores the effectiveness of the Group’s robust succession planning arrangement.
The Board announcement follows the recent listing of Access Holdings Plc (Access Holdings) with the ticker ACCESSCORP on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) as the parent entity of Access Bank Plc.
Bababode Olukayode Osunkoya with over 30 years experience spanning banking, accounting, asset leasing and consulting is announced as the Chairman/Independent Non-Executive Director. Osunkoya is the managing partner at Abax-OOSA Professionals (Chartered Accountants). Prior to this, he worked as the Principle Partner of Bababode Osunkoya and Co from 1994-2007.
Mr Abubakar Aribidesi Jimoh, CFA, a versatile professional with over 30 years experience will serve alongside Osunkoya as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Mrs Fatimah Bintah Bello-Ismail, a lawyer with more than 36 years in the legal and financial services field and Mrs Ojinika Nkechielu Olaghere, the Managing Director of Rickela Consulting Limited, a management consulting business involved in training, capacity building, coaching and advisory services are both joining the Board as Independent Non-Executive Director and Executive Director respectively.
Others appointed to board as Non- Executive Directors are; Mr Olusegun Babalola Ogbonnewo, currently Operating Director, Tengen Family Office following stint at Access Bank Plc between 2006 NS 2017, Mr Roosevelt Ogbonna, FCA, CFA, who has been Access Bank’s Deputy Managing Director since 2017 and Mr Oluseyi Kolawale Kumapayi, FCA who joined Access Bank in 2002 as the Head of Financial Control and Credit Risk Management.
Ms Bolaji Olaitan Agbede, seasoned Human Resources manager joins the Board also as an Executive Director.
‘’The Directors have been selected based on their exceptionally rich, professional, academic and corporate board experiences which are all relevant to the needs of the board,’’ Chairman of the Board, Osunkoya said while commenting on the appointments.
‘’We are strongly convinced that the Directors’ skills would add significant value in the implementation of the company’s strategic aspiration,’’ he added.
