Academic Staff Union of Universities extends warning strike by 3 months

MON, 09 MAY, 2022-theGBJournal | The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nigeria today announced the extension of its warning strike by another three months, prolonging the agonies of students hoping for a call off of the strike today.

The Academic Staff Union, which has been on perpetual strike since the 1980s, had said it would end the warning strike today ‘’as considerations on indefinite strike commences.’’

The President of the Union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, revealed the latest development to the media.

The Federal Government on its part plans to resume talks today with the Union in bid to resolve issues àt stake. ASSU said it is willing to call off the strike ‘’if agreement is made.’’
