Abducted Jangebe Secondary School girls regain freedom

TUES 02 MARCH, 2021-theGBJournal- A total of 279 girls were taken, Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle said Tuesday morning as he received the students of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Nigeria, after their release.

‘’It gladdens my heart to announce the release of the abducted students of GGSS,’’ the Governor added.

The abducted students arrived Gusau, Zamfara State Capital 5 am Tuesday morning on mini buses.

Whispers of their release first filtered in late on Monday.

It is not certain how the release of the students were secured or if ransom was paid, but the State Governor said in a twitter note that the process of securing their release followed ‘’the scaling of several hurdles laid against our efforts.’’
