SAT, APRIL 18 2020-theG&BJournal- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership have described the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, as depressing and saddening.
Kyari, a key member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is the first high profile Nigerian government official to die from the coronavirus. He died Friday and Nigerians woke up this morning to the news of his death.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologgbondiyan, the Party sent their comforting message to the President, the Kyari family, the government and people of Borno state and the nation at large for the painful loss.
‘’Similarly, the PDP commiserates with families of all the victims of COVID-19 pandemic and prays for the speedy recovery of the sick who are receiving treatment in various isolation centers.’’
Meanwhile, Bashir Ahmad Personal Assistant on New Media to the President said on his twitter note that Kyari’s remains has arrived Abuja where he will be buried later today, according to Islamic rites. The funeral prayer and burial will be private.
