…Communique from the 11th Session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission holding in Tuynhuys, Cape Town signed
TUE DEC 03 2024-theGBJournal| South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Tuesday that tourists from Nigeria can now apply for a visa without submitting a passport, a significant gain and the outcome of President Bola Tinubu’s current visit to South Africa.
The South African President spoke at the opening of the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town, which Nigeria’s President Tinubu is attending.
Ramaphosa told the delegates that his country has simplified its visa processes to facilitate travel for Nigerian business people and tourists, with measures such as five-year multiple entry visas.
”Our efforts to create a favorable environment include our simplified visa process for Nigerian business people to travel to South Africa,” Ramaphosa said, adding that ”qualifying Nigerian business people can be granted a five-year multiple entry visas.”
Meanwhile, President Tinubu, alongside his co-chair of the BNC, President Ramaphosa witnessed the signing of the communique from the 11th Session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission holding in Tuynhuys, Cape Town.
President Tinubu said after the communique was signed that, ”the outcome of this 11th session of the Bi-National Commission reaffirms our commitment to strengthening existing ties and deeper collaboration between Nigeria and South Africa towards a future of shared prosperity, security, and progress for our people.”
