SUN, MAR 10 2024-theGBJournal|The Delta State Government, in collaboration with Jobberman Nigeria and MasterCard Foundation, has launched a Soft Skills Training Programme in the State.
The launching took place in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area.
The Soft Skills Training, a dynamic partnership aims to equip 100,000 young women between the ages of 18 to 35 years across the state for the year 2024 for soft skills. Over 400 participants has so far been recorded.
The commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, urged them to show responsibility and embrace the training for their development and career growth.
Ms. Uduaghan posited that the training programme would focus on skills like effective communication, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking for better job prospects.
Ms. Uduaghan used the platform to pay tribute to Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko for his exemplary commitment to women’s growth.
The Programme will provide participants who finish the training an onboarding opportunity on the Jobberman platform where they would be paired with employers or organizations that match their skills.
In his address, Jobberman Nigeria’s Programme Manager, Ahmed Alaja, highlighted the company’s commitment to bridging the gap between employer expectations and employee skills.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Wilson Chukwuka, commended the State governor for providing an enabling platform for the Ministry to reach out to Deltans.
