SAT, FEB 10 2024-theGBJournal|The National Population Commission has commenced the 2023 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) survey in the state, the Delta State Government announced on Friday.
A statement by the State Director of Public Communication, Mrs. Theresa Oliko, indicated that the objective of the 2023 Demographic and Health Survey was to “generate high quality data on health, nutritional status and the general well-being of citizens for national planning and development.”
The fieldwork for the survey commenced on December 4, 2023, and is expected to last until May, 2024. Twenty-two local government areas were selected and demarcated into different enumeration areas for the conduct of the exercise.
The statement further appealed to residents of the state to cooperate and participate in the survey by working with the local government Controller of the National Population Commission, and the surveyors as the exercise would provide reliable demographic data needed for planning and development of the state.
