TUE, DEC 26 2023-theGBJournal| Chairman of Titan Trust Bank, Tunde Lemo have received fresh invitation from the team of the Special Investigators investigating the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to appear before it on December 28 to update his statement following publications in some newspapers that contradicted his confessional statement of August 2023.

Following the publication of the report by the Special Investigator in which he accused former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele of using proxies to acquire Union Bank for Titan Trust Bank Limited without any evidence of payment, Titan Trust Bank issued a statement believed to have been authorized by Lemo to deny most of the claims in the report.

As such, the panel in an invitation signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Eloho Okpoziakpo, the Head of Operations, Office of the Special Investigator is asking Tunde Lemo together with Cornelius Vink and Rahul Savara, who are beneficial shareholders of the bank to appear on Thursday, December 28 for further questioning .

The invitation is to ensure beyond reasonable doubt that the federal government has given a fair hearing to the three on the TTB and Union Bank transactions, and failure to appear with the requested documents will be construed that that they misled the Nigerian public with their reaction and also will be construed that they have decided to forfeit their purported shareholdings in TTB and Union Bank of Nigeria.
