…Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshaveni says ”a genocide under the watch of the international community cannot be tolerated.”

TUE, NOV 07 2023-theGBJournal|South Africa on Monday recalled all of its diplomat from Tel Aviv in condemnation of the intense bombardment of Gaza, which it called a genocide and a collective punishment of Palestinians.

South Africa’s Cabinet had said it believes that Tel Aviv is harming global peace order and the system underpinning it.

The Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshaveni, amidst the Gaza bombardment and deaths of hundreds of the children and women said ”the position of the Ambassador of Israel to South Africa is becoming untenable.”

”A genocide under the watch of the international community cannot be tolerated,” She said during a press briefing, adding ”another holocaust in the history of humankind is not acceptable and the South African Government has decided to withdraw all its diplomat from Tel Aviv for consultation.”

She said the country’s cabinet has noted ”these continuing disparaging remarks of the Israeli ambassador to South Africa about those who are opposing the atrocities and the genocide of Israeli government. This is despite the condemnation by the previous ambassadors of Israel to South Africa who were clear that the acts of Israeli government are a repeat of apartheid and not different to apartheid antics.”

The South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa had already openly expressed his commitment to be in solidarity with the Palestinians.

Hamas said it welcomes the move by South Africa to recall its diplomats from Israel
