WED, JUNE 07 2023-theGBJournal |Major oil marketers expressed solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Wednesday at the State House over his bold move to scrap the contentious fuel subsidy.
The stakeholders, led by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun was on a courtesy visit to the President.
Abiodun, giving insights to the discussion held with the President, said the Vice President Kashim Shettima has been directed by the President to come up with an approach and begin the process of working on interventions to mitigate the impact of the subsidy removal on Nigerians.
The marketers also disclosed their intention to donate 50 to 100 fifty-seater mass transit bussses that coukd run on gas, to help ease the impact of the fuel subsidy removal with the net 30 days. They also hope corporate bodies will join the effort.
