MON, 02 NOV, 2020-theGBJournal-Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has gone into self-isolation after testing positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Tedros confirmed he has contracted the deadly virus on Sunday. He said, ‘’I have been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for #COVID-19.’’
The D-G said he is well and without symptoms ‘’but will self-quarantine over the coming days, in line with WHO protocols, and work from home.’’
He said alongside his WHO colleagues, he will continue to engage with partners in solidarity to save lives and protect the vulnerable while urging compliance with health guidance.
‘’This is how we break the chains of COVID-19 transmission, suppress the virus, and protect health systems.’’
