PORT HARCOURT, JUNE 27, 2016 – The Amaibidokiapu Development Project (ADP), a socio-political organisation in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers, on Monday, lauded Mr Foluso Adebanjo, the state Commissioner of Police for effective crime control.

Mr Tamuno-Opubo Ibuluya, the coordinator of the group, said in Port Harcourt that the state had lost many investment opportunities because of insecurity.

Ibuluya said that youths were usually misled into violence, kidnapping, armed robbery by desperate politicians, who did not mean well for them.

He lauded the police commissioner for his command’s renewed effort to curb crime.

According to Ibuluya, the new Commissioner of Police has a tasking duty before him, to get rid of miscreants, who are discouraging investors from investing in the state.

“The CP has a serious challenge in the state. A large number of youths in Rivers were armed with guns and used as political thugs to win elections.

“Those who gave the guns to the youth are unable to retrieve them. The youth now use the same guns to terrorise the entire state,” he said.

Ibuluya said the commissioner could be able to nip crime in the bud, if he remained neutral as a professional officer.

He urged the youth in the state to shun violence and crime that could affect their future negatively.
