Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa has said that his administration will complete all projects close to 90 per cent completion and inaugurated for the benefits of Bayelsa people before Feb.14.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Godwin Konyefa, said this in a statement he made available on Saturday in Yenagoa.
Konyefa said that the Dickson-led administration would soon inaugurate several projects that it had completed before leaving office on Feb. 14.
He listed some of the projects to include: the Onopa Bridge, which leads to the new Yenagoa city, the Opume Bridge in Ogbia Local Government Area and the Harold Dappa-Biriye Conference Centre in Onopa.
He also said that the newly constructed roads to be inaugurated are the high profile road by the Nigerian Air Force Mobility Command.
“It also includes the Kpansia Market Road and the Yenizue-Gene New Government Residential Area (GRA) main access road.
“Others are: the Bayelsa Palm and the old Assembly Quarters’ roads, which had been completed and already in use.
“On the Isaac Boro Expressway, the completed first phase of the project between Oxbow Lake and Opolo Roundabout will also be inaugurated.
“While the second phase between Opolo and Tombia Roundabout at Etegwe will be resurfaced and the flyover at the roundabout will be done by future administrations in the state,’’ he said.
Konyefa, however, appealed to users of the expressway to exercise patience with the construction company handling the job during the resurfacing.
The governor had equally directed various ministries, departments and agencies with projects that were nearing completion to finish them for inauguration.
Such projects include 84 of the 105 health centres in the 105 wards across the state under the Ministry of Health as well as the renovated Samson Siasia Sports Complex.
