FRI JULY 10 2026-theGBJournal| Nigeria LNG Ltd. (NLNG) is seeking consultancy firms to support its energy transition and decarbonisation programme as the company steps up efforts to meet its 2040 net-zero emissions target, in line with Nigeria’s 2060 net-zero ambition.
The company has consequently, invited qualified and experienced companies to submit expressions of interest for the provision of energy transition and decarbonisation consultancy services under a call-off contract.
The mandate forms part of the company’s broader Corporate Transformation Strategy and is expected to provide specialist technical, analytical and implementation support across its operations as decarbonisation projects are initiated.
Under the proposed arrangement, consultants will provide regulatory due diligence, compliance assessments, regulatory gap analyses and implementation plans to help the company adapt to evolving climate, carbon and energy transition regulations in both domestic and international markets.
The scope of work also includes strategic technical advisory services on decarbonisation initiatives such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) optimisation, operational flare reduction, green fuels technologies and fuel-switching projects.
In addition, NLNG is seeking expertise to undertake technical, commercial and economic feasibility studies for renewable and low-carbon energy projects, including solar, wind, geothermal and hybrid energy systems, while identifying opportunities to integrate these technologies across its value chain.
The consultancy assignment will also cover the development and implementation of carbon offset programmes, including project assessment, monitoring, validation and registration under internationally recognised standards such as Verra and Gold Standard.
NLNG further plans to strengthen its emissions management capabilities through the deployment of carbon management and monitoring systems, including Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), digital Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) platforms, emissions reporting frameworks and analytics tools aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO 14064 and other applicable international standards.
The engagement signals NLNG’s intention to accelerate the decarbonisation of its liquefied natural gas value chain as it aligns its long-term operations with global climate targets and Nigeria’s transition to a lower-carbon economy.
