WED JUNE 24 2026-theGBJournal| Lafarge Africa Plc has completed its corporate rebranding and will henceforth operate as HBM Nigeria Plc, marking a significant shift in the cement maker’s corporate identity as it seeks to align its brand with its long-term growth strategy and evolving business vision.
”The new identity signals a forward-looking phase for the company, driven by operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation,” said Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi while speaking on the transition.
The company said the name change received shareholder approval at its Annual General Meeting on April 30, 2026, and has subsequently been endorsed by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), which issued a new Certificate of Incorporation reflecting the change.
According to a statement signed by Company Secretary and Legal Director, Adewunmi Alode, the rebranding forms part of a broader strategic transformation aimed at strengthening the company’s market positioning while reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable value to shareholders and other stakeholders.
HBM Nigeria said the change in corporate identity will not affect existing shareholdings, noting that all share certificates and electronic holdings remain valid and will be updated automatically by the company’s registrars.
The company expressed appreciation to regulators, shareholders and stakeholders for their continued support, adding that HBM Nigeria Plc remains committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance, operational excellence and long-term value creation.
