…The NASD Securities Index and market capitalisation declined by 0.64% to settle at 3,606.76 points and N2.16 trillion

TUE FEB 03 2026-theGBJournal| The NGX All-Share Index rose marginally on Monday, closing 0.01% up to 165,383.58 points, with market capitalization steady at N106.16 trillion.

The Month-to-Date and Year-to-Date returns consequently settled at 1bp and +6.3%, respectively.

The marginal advance underscores a market in consolidation mode after recent rallies, as investors selectively rotate into defensive and fundamentally sound names.

ARADEL (+5.1%) and STANBIC (+9.3%) shares advanced to more than offset declines in FIRSTHOLDCO (-8.8%) and ETI (-8.3%).

The total volume traded advanced by 11.0% to 762.75 million units, valued at N18.41 billion, and exchanged in 55,374 deals.

TANTALIZER was the most traded stock by volume at 88.49 million units, while GEREGU was the most traded stock by value at N2.78 billion.

Sectoral performance was broadly negative as the Insurance (-2.0%), Banking (-0.6%), Consumer Goods (-0.4%) and Industrial Goods (-0.1%) indices declined while the Oil & Gas (+2.0%) index advanced.

As measured by market breadth, market sentiment was negative (0.6x), as 28 tickers gained relative to 44 losers.

OMATEK (-10.0%) and UHOMREIT (-10.0%) led the laggards, while UNIVINSURE (+10.0%) and PREMPAINTS (+10.0%) posted the most significant gains of the day.

Meanwhile, the NASD market opened on a bearish note, as the NASD Securities Index and market capitalisation declined by 0.64% to settle at 3,606.76 points and N2.16trn, respectively. On a week-on-week basis, the NASD OTC market contracted by 0.64%.

Market activity improved significantly, with transaction volume and value plunging by 1,238.45% and 1,075.18%, respectively, indicating an improved investor participation despite the session’s bearish close.

On the performance board, SDGEFLUID (+1.54%) led the gainers, while SDUBNPROP (-10.55%) topped the decliners’ chart for the session.
