Federal Ministry of Finance takes new step to actualize the Integrated Productive Communities, industrial project in Niger State

…Receives the Certificates of Occupancy for 100,000 hectares of land project from Niger State government

FRI JAN 23 2026-theGBJournal| Niger State Government has presented Certificates of Occupancy for 100,000 hectares of land to the Federal Ministry of Finance as part of its commitment to a signed partnership with the ministry for the establishment of Sustainable Integrated Productive Communities (SIPC) in the State.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago presented the certificates at the Ministry in Abuja.

The certificates of occupancy, which make up for the 100,000 hectares, were from lands covering the Minna to Zungeru axis, Lapai to Lambata road, Minna to Bida road, Lapai to Paiko road and Minna to Suleja axis.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago, who described the initiative as noble and solution-driven to issues of industrialisation, agriculture, and security, among others, pointed out that it is expected to have a multiplier effect on the society.

He also disclosed that the state government has made available an additional 20,000 hectares of land from each of the 25 local government areas of the state for any investor that is willing to key into developing the state.

Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, said the presentation of the Certificates of Occupancy by the Niger State government represents a significant milestone in the delivery of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of food security, mass housing, and inclusive economic growth.

The minister, who acknowledged the leadership qualities and commitment of the farmer governor to the pilot project, said the scheme demonstrates how the federal government is working hand-in-hand with proactive and progressive state governments to translate national priorities into concrete and profitable projects.

The Managing Director, Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang, said the project is to transform communities, as abandoned lands will be utilised for productive ventures, thereby creating a source of livelihood for people, among other benefits.

The Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, applauded the farmer governor for his commitment to making sure that the project commences without delay for the overall benefit of Nigerlites, adding that the Rural Electrification Agency, which is a key stakeholder in the SIPC project, has up to 30 projects being developed in Niger State.

Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman, said the presentation of certificates of occupancy to the Federal Ministry of Finance is an attestation to the State Government’s commitment to the success of the SIPC project in the State.

Member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Finance, Saidu Musa Abdulaahi, described the SIPC project as a great initiative that will create jobs, fast-track development, and curtail rural-urban migration.

In their separate remarks, the Executive Director of Finance, Happy Home Funds Ltd, Abdullahi Musa, and the Chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, expressed their readiness to work harmoniously to help in achieving the set objectives of the SIPC project in Niger State.

Recall that the Niger State government had made a commitment of 100,000 hectares of land under a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Finance for the establishment of SIPC in Niger State as a pilot scheme aimed at ensuring food security, providing mass housing, and promoting inclusive economic growth.
