Super Eagles set up semi-final brawl with AFCON host Morocco after emphatic 2-0 win against Algeria

SAT JAN 10 2026-theGBJournal| Nigeria Super Eagles kept their dream of a fourth African Cup of Nations (AFCON) championship trophy alive with an emphatic 2-0 win against Algeria in Marrakech on Saturday.

Super striker Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams scored their 4th (47th minute) and 3rd goals (57th minute) respectively in the second half of the game dominated by the Super Eagles, pushing Nigeria’s goal tally in the tournament to 14 overall.

Nigeria, runners-up at the 2023 edition, will now face host Morocco, who beat Cameroon 2-0 on Friday, in the semi-final on Wednesday.
