
TUE DEC 30 2025-theGBJournal| Nigeria Super Eagles finished their TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations group stage matches with flourish, beating Uganda 3-1 in Fes, Morocco, a game many regard as their best performance in a while in any competitive tournament.
Super Eagles scored eight goals against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda to came off the group stages with a perfect record, and with three wins from three to underline their status as one of the tournament’s favorite sides.
Paul Onuachi opened the scoring for the Super Eagles in the first half, finishing from close range to set the tune for the day.
Uganda substitute goalkeeper, under pressure from hitman Victor Osimhen, handled the ball outside his box and was sent off 10 minutes later.
Raphael Onyedika scored twice in the 62nd and 67th to put the game beyond the Ugandans.
However, Ugandan forward Mato pulled one back for the Cranes.
Nigeria and Tunisia qualified from Group C.
