U.S launches deadly Christmas Day strike against terrorist in Northwest Nigeria with President Tinubu’s support

FRI DEC 26 2025-theGBJournal| The U.S President Donald Trump said on Sunday the he ordered ”a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily Christians, at levels not seen for many years, not even centuries.”

It is not know how many people were killed or injured yet in the strike.

President Trump broke the news of the strike on Christmas Day on his ”Truth” social media handle early morning Nigerian time.

He noted that he has previously the terrorists that if they did stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay.

”And tonight, there was,” he said.

Trump confirmed that the U.S Department of War executed ”numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.”

He added: ”Under my leadership, our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to proper.

May God Bless our military, and Merry Christmas to all, including the dead terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”

Top U.S government official, Secretary Pete Hegseth noted in his X post that President Trump was clear last month: the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria (and elsewhere) must end.

”The Department of War is always ready, so ISIS found out tonight-on Christmas. More to come…

Grateful for Nigerian government support and cooperation.”

A top U.S Pentagon official confirmed that the Nigeria government was working with the United States. There was approval and they work in conjunction on these strikes.

The Nigeria Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press statement underscored the cooperation and intelligence collaboration before the strike.

The ministry confirmed the development in a statement released by spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienta.

”The ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that Nigerian authorities remain engaged in structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States of America, in addressing the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism. This has led to precision hits on terrorist targets in Nigeria by strikes in the Northwest.”
