ECOWAS Council of Ministers reaffirms commitment to regional unity, security and economic integration

SUN DEC 14 2025-theGBJournal| The ECOWAS Council of Ministers has reaffirmed their collective resolve to strengthen peace, security, democratic governance and economic integration across West Africa.

This is coming at the end of 95th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers held in Abuja, Nigeria.

Delivering the closing remarks at the end of the two-day session, the Chairman of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Musa Timothy KABBAH, commended Ministers and delegates for what he described as open, constructive and forward-looking deliberations that addressed the most pressing challenges confronting the sub-region.

Alhaji Musa KABBAH congratulated Member States on the successful outcome of the meeting and underscored the dedication, insight and collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the session, noting that such commitment reflects a shared determination to deepen regional integration and promote collective prosperity for the peoples of West Africa.

The Chairman expressed profound appreciation to the ECOWAS Commission, as well as the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the excellent organization and hospitality that ensured the smooth conduct of the session.

He also acknowledged the vital contributions of the Permanent Representatives, the Conference Secretariat, technical experts and interpreters whose efforts enhanced the quality of the Council’s work.
