MON NOV 10 2025-theGBJournal| Nigeria’s anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, 61, wanted.

The EFCC said today that Sylva, who served as governor of Beyelsa State from 2007 to 2021 under former and late President Muhammadu Buhari, is wanted by the Commission in an ”alleged case of conspiracy and dishonest conversion of $14,859,257-part of funds injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the construction of a Refinery.”

Sylva’s residence in Abuja and Yenegoa was recently raided by security officials believed to operatives of the Defence Headquarters, after a coup attempt was reported by several Nigerian media houses.

Sylva has since denied involvement in the coup attempt.
