TUE SEPT 09 2025-theGBJournal| Israeli military on Tuesday struck a deadly blow to Hamas political leadership in Doha City, Qatar.
Israeli officials confirmed the strike that targeted Hamas top officials, who were in Doha to discuss the latest U.S peace proposal.
The Hamas officials targeted and killed include, Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas’s acting political bureau chief and chief negotiator.
Other top officials of Hamas believed to be in the building include when Israel struck were, Khaled Mashal, Zaher Jabarin, Mousa Abu Marzook and Husam Badran.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin has taken full responsibility for the strike saying ”today’s action against the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas was a wholly independent Israeli operation.”
He adds: ”Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility.”
The Israel Defense Forces in a statement confirmed they ”conducted the precise strike” alongside ISA.
The IDF said the members of the Hamas leadership killed, have led the ”terrorist organization’s” operations, and are directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel.
”Prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence. The IDF and ISA will continue to operate with determination in order to defeat the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for the October 7 massacre,” IDF said.
Meanwhile, oil prices responded to the strike. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) surged 1% to above $63 per barrel, building on a previous 6% gain. Brent also briefly gained 1.5% to $67.
The strike, according to analysts, suggests supply risk concerns, with Qatar producing 1.7 million barrels a day and ranks as the third-biggest LNG exporter.
