…Union Bank’s assets (as of Q2-2025) exceeds N2.3 trillion with over 8 million customers, putting it among the top ten banks in the country now.
MON SEPT 01 2025-theGBJournal| Union Bank of Nigeria said Sunday its has successfully completed its merger with Titan Trust Bank Limited, following the final approval from the Central of Nigeria (CBN), bringing to a close a process that began with the signing of a share sale agreement in 2021.
Union Bank’s managing Director/CEO, Mrs Yetunde Oni describes the development as a pivotal moment in the Bank’s 108-year journey, and a launchpad for delivering greater value to its customers.
”By blending stability with innovation, we are better positioned to meet the evolving needs of Nigerians and to be their most trusted financial partner,” she adds.
Post merger, the combined institution continues under the Union Bank of Nigeria name, while Titan Trust Bank ceases to exist as a separate entity.
However, customers will continue to have seamless access across branches and ATM. This means that customers can use Titan Trust Bank’s accounts at Union Bank branches and vice versa-no new accounts or changes needed, and Titan Trust’s debt cards can work at all Union Bank ATMs without extra charges, and the same applies the other way around.
Besides, with the merger, Union Bank’s branch network and ATM footprint has been significantly enhanced, with over 293 service centers and 937 ATMs nationwide.
Union Bank’s assets (as of Q2-2025) exceeds N2.3 trillion with over 8 million customers, putting it among the top ten banks in the country now.
The Chairman of Union Bank of Nigeria’s Board of Directors sees the completion of the deal as a ”new era of growth, collaboration, and shared prosperity.”
”By bringing together the strengths of both institutions, we are committed to creating lasting values for our customers, shareholders, and communities, while advancing Nigeria’s financial inclusion agenda,” he said.
