TUE AUG 26 2025-theGBJournal| The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa has confirmed the train derailment involving its Kaduna bound AKTS train service at about 11.09 at KM 49 between Kubwa station and Asham station on Tuesday.
He did not provide reason for derailment in a statement he signed, seen by theG&BJournal, but said emergency rescue, medical personnel, and nearby hospitals have already been mobilised.
He added that full compliment of security are already on ground as effort is ongoing to move all passengers on train back to Abuja safely.
Most passengers seen on video circulating online, say they are still unsure what would have caused the accident that left many passengers thrown off that train’s coaches and injured.
