THUR JULY 24 2025-theGBJournal| Hulk Hogan, the wrestling super hero and one of the most recognizable names in global wrestling, has died at the age of 71.
He died of cardiac arrest.
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) establishment announced his passing Thursday.
”One of the pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hulk Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.” WWE said in a statement announcing the passing of the Hall of Famer.
”WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hulk was known for his flamboyance, and began his wrestling career in 1977.
His physic, aura and in-ring antics helped usher in the 1980s professional wrestling boom globally.
He headlined the first nine editions of WrestleMania, the flagship annual event of the WWE.
He equally starred in numerous movies, including the pop culture fiction, Rocky 111 as Rip Thomas, the Gremlins 2, Suburban Commando and Spy Hard among others, from 1982 to 2011.
He is survived by two children, Brooke and Nick Hogan.
