…ADC Coalition Party knocks the appointment
WED JULY 09 2025-theGBJournal| Former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been appointed as new Chairman of the Board the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
Ganduje’s appointment and inauguration today, was announced by Gbenga Saka, the Special Assistant, Digital Media to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
”Ongoing: Inauguration of the Board the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Board, with His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje serving as Chairman of the Board,” Gbenga Saka posted on his X handle.
The appointment of Ganduje, who recently resigned as Chair of the APC comes as a shock to many, and the opposition ADC Coalition Party has described the appointment as a Tinubu’s shameless circus.
”This appointment of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is yet another slap in the face to Nigerians, a glaring example of President Tinubu’s reckless pattern of jamming round holes into square pegs is an insult to competence and integrity!,” ADC said in an unsigned statement issued shortly after the news of Ganduje’s appointment.
ADC Coalition Party said Tinubu’s obsession with rewarding loyalists and cronies over merit is a fire that’s burning down Nigeria’s future.
According to ADC, Ganduje’s track record screams mismanagement; deposing an emir for “insubordination,” dodging accountability, and allegedly stashing kickbacks, yet he’s deemed fit to oversee a critical sector like aviation?
”This isn’t leadership; it’s a shameless patronage racket! While capable youths rot in unemployment and our airports crumble under outdated infrastructure, Tinubu keeps propping up these old, disgraced warhorses, turning FAAN into a retirement home for the politically connected.”
The ADC added: ”This appointment isn’t just a misfit, it’s a betrayal of every Nigerian who demands transparency and progress. Tinubu’s government is dragging us backward, and if we don’t rise up. we’ll be stuck with leaders who see public office as a personal piggy bank, not a public trust.”
