MON, OCT 19 2020-theG&BJournal-The Nigeria Police Force have confirmed reports of attack on its facilities at Ugbekun Police Station, Oba Market Police Station and Idogbo in Beni City, Edo State, confirming also that the attack on the Police Stations were carried out by ”persons posing as #ENDSARS protesters.”
The attacks today led to freeing of suspects and criminals in custody as well as burning down of some of the facilities.
The Police Force leadership say the extent of the damage ”cannot be ascertained at the moment but report indicates that the protesters carted away arms and ammunition from the armoury.”
The Police said they are doing everything possible at the moment to bring the situation underr control, protect lives of innocent citizens and prevent further attacks on aby other critical infrastructure in the State.
”The Force is calling on parents and guardians to prevail on their children and wards to desist from acts of violence under any guise whatsoever,” the Police said.
