(LAGOS NIGERIA; JUNE 17) The Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) says it is discussing with the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria on how to develop local agricultural equipment.

Mr Adeola Elliot, the Chairman, Agriculture Group of LCCI, made this known to NAN on Friday in Lagos.

Elliot said the talks became necessary because Brazil had a good intermediate technology that was suitable for Nigeria.

“LCCI is in talks with the Brazilian Ambassador and we are looking at bringing the country’s expertise because the country’s equipment is intermediate technology which we can operate.

“We urgently want to build local capacity for local development of our equipment,” he said.

The chairman also appealed to the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO), Oshodi, Lagos, to collaborate on the partnership by providing necessary knowledge on tools and training.

He urged other bodies to join in the drive to revive the economy through agriculture.
