WED, APRIL 4 2018-theG&BJournal-Five Nigerians, including an award winning University graduate, Abraham Badru, 26, has been brutally murdered since January this year (2018) in London in the cross-fire of criminal gangs fuelled by a drug market driven by big-time drug lords and Mafia bosses.
The UK DailyMail reports that the UK Metropolitan Police has launched 50 murder investigation since the start of January including 5 shootings and 31 stabbings.
It is not known if the deaths of the Nigerians is tied to their involvement with any of the gangs involved in the war but the British media describes all of the dead as ‘innocent victims’.
The youngest Nigerian born victim of the gang war is Dami Odeyingbo who was stabbed to death in Bromley in January. He was 18 at the time of death.
Harry Uzoka, 25, was also killed on the 11th of January following a melee with his attackers in Shepherd’s Bush. According to the Daily Mail report, Harry was on the books of Premier Model Management and had modelled for brands including Mercedes and Zara.
Rotimi Oshinbajo was fatally stabbed on February 19th inside a property in the Halliday Square housing estate.
On March 8th Kelvin Oduniyi 19, was shot dead in Haringey and on the 25th of March Abraham Badru 26, was gunned down in Hackney. Badru was awarded the National Police Bravery Award in 2009.
