ABUJA JANUARY 31, 2017 – Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Federal Government appears set to tackle key challenges in the electoral system as it has developed a solar-powered electronic voting machine.
The device, which has a cloud-based election result collation system, was produced locally by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in Abuja.
Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Prof. Mohammed Haruna who unveiled the voting machine Monday at a ceremony in Abuja, said it was developed using cloud based computing system and would address most of the current challenges in the country’s electoral system.
