MAY 30, 2018 – Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has cut down his provisional squad for this summer’s World Cup from 30 to 25 players.

Those removed from the squad are: Moses Simon, Dele Ajiboye, Uche Agbo, Stephen Eze and Junior Lokosa.

The players will not travel with the rest of the team to London, where Nigeria take on the Three Lions of England on Saturday.

After that game, Rohr will drop two more players and then name his final 23-man squad.

Team sources claim four players battling for two spots are: Ola Aina or Elderson Echiejile for left-back and Joel Obi or Mikel Agu for central midfield.
