DAMATURU, JULY 9, 2016 – The Chairman, Yobe Pilgrims Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Al-Arab, said a total of 2,231 intending pilgrims from the state were set and ready for the 2016 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Arab, who disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Damaturu, said the Commission had already carried out successful orientation for the pilgrims and acquainted them with rituals of the exercise.

He said “the Commission has organised educational enlightenment and practical exercises for the pilgrims so that they do not miss out anything and also get value for their money.

He added that “the fare this year is in three categories of minimum, medium and maximum seats of N1.01 million, N1.06 million and N1.1 million respectively.”

He assured that the Commission had rededicated itself to the provision of efficient services to pilgrims both at home and in the Holy Land and advised pilgrims
to be good ambassadors of the state.

He said “pilgrims are expected to be good ambassadors of the state by avoiding all breaches of the law, especially by carrying banned commodities to the Holy Land.”

He said the Commission was liaising with the National Hajj commission (NAHCOM) to ensure improved welfare services to pilgrims.
